jrks.org make over; please leave some feedback.

I plan on giving jrks.org some type of makeover prior to bf3 release.

I've asked several members about the white text on black background and due to the visibility of text on that color theme we will likely stick with that.

One of my main goals will be to clean up the header in the hopes of decreasing load times...with that in mind i'm looking for suggestions and recommendations.

Are there any specific changes you would like to see?

Any specific areas of the site you want to stay the way it is without change?

Any random ideas related to this?

A couple of suggestions:

Move Donations module up above servers module so it can be viewed without having to scroll down.

Sounds good...some of that is easy...some parts are harder.

I should rephrase my wording about the header. The width is fine, it's the height that could be reduced, imo.

I use A 40 inch Monitor and it all looks good to me.. I run at hi rez web and in all games all high settings if ya got her crank her up No probs here Look's Damn Good... Exclamation

I'm just a simple guy, but I like it as is. Of course, a photo of male genitalia always spruces up things.

black is a refreshing change from all those white sites. i say don't change. the left and right columns are narrow, i think that is what is meant by make the blocks wider. maybe 40-60 more pixels each. ya the header is a bit tall (-100px).

I intend on implementing all these ideas....I don't know whether I will be able to do so before bf3's release (I know i'm behind when I can't beat the release of bf3 lol).

Anyway, I appreciate the feedback and welcome any other recommendations. Now is the time, before I get into recoding the entire theme lay out to change header/block dimensions....much harder than it should be.

Put some time into it today....just resizing blocks etc.

Anyway look at the lay out now...just dimensions wise for center/side blocks & header size

Current Known Issues:
***(header needs redone to fit new dimensions, but you can kinda tell how big it will be when it fills the entire width)
***(background image modified...or just left black)
***(mumble block needs text/links centered)
***(Server viewers need adjusted to take advantage of new block size)

I've reduced header height to 200px and width is the same at 980px (don't recall original height I think it was like 330px)
I've enlarged width of center blocks 100% went from 400px to 800px
I've enlarged blocks by 100px went from 188 to 288.

Still lots of work to be done but I want to finalize dimensions before moving forward.

wow it's big but the jrks logo need to fit top of page

its nice and big love it, i agree, the logo should be HUGE!!!

I think the side blocks are a little too wide right now myself.

My problem is right now that it doesn't scale to lower resolutions very well...take your resolution down a notch or 2 and the dudes face on the right starts to show up in the wrong place....can't figure out what the issue is atm.

If you go to 1440x900 or below you see what i'm talking about. Unfortunately I think that resolution is still fairly common on the web....maybe even some gamers use that...not sure yet.
